Overview
Join Our Unified Desktop Team at Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust. We are seeking proactive and technically skilled individuals to support critical front-line services by maintaining and upgrading essential IT equipment used daily by clinical and non-clinical staff.
Role structure: You will report to an End User Equipment Lead and work as part of a team integrated with wider Digital Services support. The role is cross-site across the three main hospital sites.
Responsibilities
* Provision, replacement and support of end-user equipment (desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, mobile devices, monitors, AV equipment, Unified Communications handsets, peripherals, and related devices).
* Apply ITIL principles (Change Management, Incident Management, Demand Management, Problem Management, Service Catalogue Management, SLA Management) in line with local policies.
* Utilise reporting tools (e.g., SCCM, SQL) for system monitoring, issue tracking, and Windows OS readiness and upgrade planning.
* Resolve issues promptly in accordance with agreed SLAs for devices used by clinicians and staff.
* Investigate, test and resolve issues related to applications, hardware and operating systems; assess impact on Trust operations and escalate per policy.
* Conduct technical analysis and research to make balanced recommendations.
* Participate in Windows OS readiness and upgrades, including data reporting, liaising with external suppliers, hardware installation and testing.
* Develop and maintain end-user and support documentation, including standard operating procedures; contribute to new process design and implementation.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential
* Extensive experience in an IT service management environment
* IT department background in desktop support/deployment or service desk support
* Comptia+ or equivalent
* Computer Science degree or equivalent knowledge/experience
* Full clean UK driving license with access to own transport
Desirable
* NHS experience
