Engineer Supervisor
Annual Salary: up to £45k plus package
Location: Bristol
Join a leading construction company with a rich history spanning over 135 years. The Building Services division is seeking an Engineer Supervisor to lead our Facilities Maintenance team in Bristol working on schools. This role is crucial for delivering safe, efficient, and reliable facilities management engineering services.
Day-to-day of the role:
Supervise a team of engineers in delivering both reactive and planned maintenance activities.
Manage client and building user expectations, aiming for high levels of customer satisfaction and daily management of client relationships.
Ensure quality control of subcontractors' work through spot checks, audits, and review of safety paperwork.
Maintain up-to-date CAFM systems and site records, ensuring compliance with Helpdesk requirements.
Coordinate and take responsibility for all maintenance activities, including equipment, plant, services, and systems.
Provide training, guidance, technical advice, and support to the engineering team.
Manage additional capital and reactive works, including arranging subcontractor attendance, providing quotations, supervising work, and conducting final quality control.
Encourage participation in Health & Safety committee meetings and ensure compliance with all safety duties and documentation for audits.
Take ownership of various compliance activities, asset management, and planned preventative maintenance (PPM).
Represent the Building Services division at all client meetings as directed by the line manager.
Assist in the development of all direct reports, including conducting annual and mid-year performance reviews.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
HNC or HND equivalent in an engineering discipline.
IOSH Health & Safety Qualification.
Experience in a similar role, with a strong background in building services, particularly in mechanical, electrical distribution, and HVAC systems.
Proficient in using mobile technology for task management.
Excellent ability to manage and prioritise a demanding and varied workload.
Proven experience in client liaison, meeting with subcontractors, and issuing planned and reactive works.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Comprehensive knowledge of Health & Safety Legislation, COSHH, confined space regulations, and L8.
Familiarity with CAFM systems and FM service delivery is desirable.
