The Opportunity
We are partnering with a prominent Residential Developer to appoint a Financial Controller to lead their finance function. This is a pivotal role that goes beyond standard reporting; you will be a key commercial partner to the leadership team, providing the financial insights necessary to drive large-scale residential projects from land acquisition through to completion.
Key Responsibilities
* Financial Oversight: Manage the full accounting function, including monthly management accounts, statutory reporting, and tax compliance.
* Development Strategy: Partner with the Land and Commercial teams to review development appraisals, land viability models, and project cash flows.
* Commercial Insight: Provide robust financial analysis and forecasting to support strategic decision-making and ensure project profitability.
* Governance: Maintain a rigorous internal control environment, managing audit processes and banking relationships.
The Ideal Profile
* Industry Experience: Extensive experience within the Residential Development or Housebuilding sector is essential.
* Qualified Professional: ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified with several years of post-qualification experience.
* Strategic Mindset: Ability to translate complex financial data into actionable commercial advice for non-finance stakeholders.
* Technical Proficiency: Expert knowledge of CIS (Construction Industry Scheme), WIP (Work in Progress) accounting, and revenue recognition in a development context.
