Deadline: 12:00 on 12/12/2025 The Role We are recruiting for an Electronic Systems & Sensors Engineer (Professional II) to join the Space Delivery Team. This team is tasked with delivering a range of high-profile space-related projects for both UK Space Command and the Cyber & Space Operating Centre (CSOC). This covers both ground-based and space-based assets, including activities supporting Op Scorpius. Reporting to the Chief Engineer, you will own the generation of requirements and manage the design of systems within realistic constraints of time, cost, and performance. Key Responsibilities Requirements Management: Own the generation of ESS (Electronic Systems & Sensors) requirements, defining technical deliverables and updating documentation for systems, considering in-service support. Design Authority: Manage the design of systems, components, or processes to meet customer requirements. Risk Management: Identify and analyse technical hazards and contribute to risk reduction measures, ensuring they are adequately documented. Verification & Validation: Manage the system’s ESS test, verification, validation, and evaluation processes. Skills & Experience Essential: Qualifications: A Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) qualification at RQF Level 4 or higher. Technical Delivery: Wide-ranging depth and breadth of experience in providing technical advice and delivering successful Electronic or Mechatronic outcomes. Professional Registration: Professionally registered (or eligible) as an Incorporated Engineer (IEng), Registered Scientist (RSci), or similar (e.g., CPhys, RMarTech). Desirable: Space Domain: Experience providing technical advice relating to space technologies. Environment: Experience working in a fast-paced delivery environment. The Offer Rate: Up to £550/day (Inside IR35). Travel: This role requires attendance in Bristol 2-3 days per week. Please note: Some travel off-site (to Contractor and Space Command sites) will be required. Contract: Initial engagement until 31st March 2026.
