Overview
Ashiyana House is a new 2 bed therapeutic children's home located in Redditch, Worcestershire. We are seeking 3 part-time Residential Support Workers to join our team and provide care and support to children aged 8-18 with learning disabilities, Autism and behavioural needs. The role involves supporting children in activities within the home and local community, and ensuring health and well-being needs are met. Personal care may be required in accordance with care plans and risk assessments. The role is expected to begin in February 2026.
We place a strong emphasis on creating an environment that promotes positive change in emotional regulation and behaviour while building secure attachments and healthy relationships. We use Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), PACE (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, and Empathy) and Sensory Attachment Intervention (SAI).
Role Responsibilities
* Develop and implement care plans for children under the supervision of the Deputy and Registered Manager
* Develop and implement risk assessments for children under the supervision of the Deputy and Registered Manager
* Engage with children in activities that promote development and well-being, both indoors and in the community
* Teach essential life skills
* Communicate effectively with children, parents, social care teams, educational settings and other professionals involved in the child’s care
* Provide transportation for children as needed
* Carry out personal care, medication administration, and help with nutrition where needed
* Help maintain the home and support children with daily tasks like cooking, cleaning, gardening and pet care
* Utilise IT systems for record-keeping and communication
Qualifications
* A background in childcare, education or a related field is advantageous
* Excellent communication skills to interact with children, parents and colleagues
* Ability to write reports and documents to a good standard
* Level 3 qualification in Residential Child Care or equivalent, or willingness to work towards this
* Valid driving license to transport children is desirable
* Proficiency in IT systems for documentation and communication
* All other trainings necessary for this role will be provided
