Overview
Marjory Warren Unit OPD/Day hospital is looking for an enthusiastic, professional staff nurse to join our small friendly team. The role will be varied, working within both the Day Hospital and the Outpatient Department. The successful candidate will work closely with various teams to offer the best care for our patients on an outpatient / day case basis. The Marjory Warren Unit offers both day care treatments and outpatient services for a variety of services within the trust and external trusts.
Responsibilities
* Provide high quality, effective, individualised care to all patients that is compassionate and caring.
* Assess care needs and develop, implement and evaluate without supervision.
* Keep up to date with skills and knowledge; comply with NMC professional registration and current nursing practices.
* Be proficient in the delivery of care to patients and ensure safe administration of drugs in accordance with NMC and local policies.
* Ensure accurate records are kept in accordance with Stockport NHS Foundation Trust policy and NMC guidelines.
* Carry out nursing procedures and techniques in accordance with agreed policies and standards.
* Undertake regular mandatory training.
* Assist in admission and discharge processes for patients in line with local procedures and support effective patient admission pathways and discharge planning, reporting any impact on shifts/workload and staffing levels.
* Engage with patients, relatives and carers to seek their views, gain agreement and keep them informed about their treatment and care; demonstrate compassion by recognising and responding to individual needs.
* Maintain registration and nursing competencies, comply with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and related documents.
* Be flexible to work within other areas or departments to meet the demands of the Trust workforce model and changing service needs.
* Commit to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and promote safeguarding by implementing the Trust's policies and procedures.
* DBS checks: Enhanced DBS at a cost of £54.90, deducted from first Trust salary; you will also join the DBS update service and pay the annual subscription of £16.
