Warehouse Supervisor Opportunity

Part of our Operations team, reporting in to the Operations Manager

£31,645 salary

Milton Keynes depot, Monday-Friday (14:30-22:30 shift)

Mawdsleys are a global pharmaceutical service provider offering a wide range of services to the pharmaceutical industry and healthcare sector.

We are the largest independent pharmaceutical wholesaler in the UK with a fast growing international network supplying medicines to meet patient needs and providing a route to market for manufacturers.

We are fully managed and regulatory compliant, sourcing imported medicines for specific patient needs. The company is experiencing growth at the moment, providing a much needed healthcare service.

Role Overview

We are currently looking to recruit a Warehouse Supervisor based at Milton Keynes. This is a pivotal role within our operation. Reporting in to the Warehouse Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the Pick/Pack operation and to work efficiently within budgets and to achieve targets.

Applicants should ideally have experience within a distribution centre and be combined with strong people management skills. The successful candidate needs to demonstrate a determination to succeed, coupled with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels. You will have key holder responsibilities.

Duties & Responsibilities

* To recruit, train, motivate and organise all colleagues under his/her responsibilities to ensure objectives are achieved and maintained whilst retaining good industrial relations;

* To ensure all Company policies and disciplines as specified in the Company Staff Handbook are adhered to;

* Assist senior colleagues in constantly reviewing the operating methods, layouts and procedures to improve performance and reduce costs;

* To provide any documentation required for the monitoring of the departments under his/her direct responsibilities (a) on time, and (b) in correct detail;

* To ensure all records required by the Company and the Home Office in relation to Controlled Drugs are maintained clearly and accurately daily, monthly and annually;

* To plan, approve, and control all necessary overtime work to ensure journey deadlines are met, whilst keeping within agreed budget costs;

* Co-ordinate colleagues and workload to meet hour-to-hour priorities at optimum costs;

* Ensure maximum efficiency is given to customer service whilst maintaining optimum costs;

* Monitor speed and accuracy of all assemblers, shelf-fillers, checkers and packers and work with individuals to improve performance;

* Ensure al new colleagues are made aware of all health and safety aspects expected by the Company at induction;

* Ensure all operating practices are healthy, safe, legal, secure and efficient;

* Maintain security of Company stock and assets;

* Ensure picking shelves are maintained to a standard which will allow maximum picking proficiency with minimum stock damage;

* Ensure correct rotation of stock within locations to enable stock with shortest life to be sold first;

* Work as an integral part of the Management team to improve the cost effectiveness of the whole depot operation;

* Work within a rota with colleagues to ensure adequate supervision is available to cover all open hours of the Company;

* Security responsibilities to include opening, closing, necessary overtime and overnight call-outs;

* Ensure all procedures relating to the handling of drugs, particularly controlled and temperature-controlled drugs, are strictly adhered to;

* Assist in monthly walk test of security equipment;

* Ensure a clean and safe working environment is maintained at all times

Upon successful appointment, you will be subject to a DBS check.
