A specialist manufacturing company is seeking a Quality Engineer to join their dedicated team in High Wycombe.
About the Role
This is a hands-on, detail-oriented role responsible for the testing and inspection of advanced slip ring and potentiometer products. Reporting directly to the HSQE Manager, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining exceptional product quality while supporting continuous improvement and quality management across the business.
Key Responsibilities:
* Carry out mechanical and electrical testing of precision electromechanical components, including insulation, noise, and voltage drop testing.
* Visually inspect parts for surface defects such as nicks, burrs, pits, and scratches.
* Maintain and update quality documentation including procedures, work instructions, and quality alerts.
* Investigate product and process failures using robust problem-solving techniques (8D, 5 Whys, A3).
* Support the analysis of customer returns and internal rejects; lead root cause investigations and corrective actions.
* Conduct internal audits and support external compliance with ISO 9001:2015.
* Maintain key departmental data, including supplier rejections and customer return metrics.
* Collaborate cross-functionally with production, testing, and supply chain teams.
What We’re Looking For:
* Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
* Strong experience in quality control, ideally in a precision manufacturing environment.
* Proficient in the use of precision measuring tools and electrical testing methods.
* Familiar with quality standards such as ISO 9001:2015 and lean tools like 5S (desirable).
* Excellent attention to detail, methodical in your approach and confident in your communication.
* Competent in reading and interpreting technical drawings and CAD data.
* Fluent in written and spoken English, with strong MS Office skills, particularly Excel.
