At Kelwel, we are committed to empowering young people aged 1618 as they transition from care to independent living. Our supported accommodation provides a safe, nurturing, and structured environment that promotes resilience, life skills, and confidence.
We are now looking for a passionate, experienced Deputy Manager to support the day-to-day running of the service and ensure the highest standards of care and support are consistently delivered.
The Role
As Deputy Manager, you will work closely with the Registered Manager to oversee the operation of our supported living home. Youll lead and motivate a team of support workers, ensure compliance with safeguarding procedures, and provide guidance to ensure our young people receive consistent, high-quality care.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the Registered Manager in managing the service in line with company policies and Ofsted guidance
Lead, supervise and develop a team of residential support staff
Oversee care planning, risk assessments and support plans for each young person
Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are followed at all times
Build strong, supportive relationships with young people, promoting independence and personal growth
Liaise effectively with external agencies, social workers and families
Participate in the on-call rota and provide shift cover where needed
About You
Were looking for someone with a strong background in working with vulnerable young people in a residential or semi-independent setting. You should be confident, compassionate, and resilient, with excellent leadership and communication skills.
Essential:
Experience working with 1618 year olds in supported living or a similar setting
Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection protocols
Level 3 Diploma (or above) in Health & Social Care or Children & Young People
A full UK driving licence
Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings and weekends
Desirable:
Supervisory or management experience
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care (or working towards)
Knowledge of Ofsted inspection frameworks and legislation relevant to supported accommodation
