We're currently on the hunt for a Director of Marketing and Communications for a prominent professional services firm.
The Director of Marketing and Communications plays a critical role in shaping and executing the firm’s external communications, brand positioning, and business development strategies. This role oversees both a marketing team and a roster of external agencies to ensure the firm maintains a strong industry presence whilst keeping ahead of the curve with innovative ways to engage with each of their markets.
It's likely you will have worked as a Director of Marketing and Communications or Head of Marketing in a smaller firm, or have experience at Head of level in a larger business. Experience with digital transformation is a plus as the firm is currently reviewing their tech stack. The role is hybrid, with a choice of office locations across the Home Counties.
Marketing Strategy & Brand Management:
* Develop and implement marketing strategies that align with business objectives and client needs.
* Ensure consistent brand messaging across all communication channels, including digital, print, and events.
* Oversee the production of marketing collateral such as brochures, proposals, presentations, and client reports.
* Collaborate with practice leaders to refine messaging and position the firm as a market leader.
Thought Leadership & Content Development:
* Drive the firm’s content strategy including industry insights, white papers, articles, and social/LinkedIn posts.
* Promote senior leadership by thought leadership pieces for publication and sourcing speaking engagements.
* Develop targeted campaigns to enhance visibility in key sectors and attract new clients.
Media Relations & Public Relations:
* Manage media outreach and build relationships with journalists and industry publications.
* Oversee press releases, interviews, and media briefings to amplify the firm’s expertise.
* Monitor industry trends and position the firm proactively within market conversations.
Digital & Social Media Strategy:
* Oversee the firm's digital presence, including website content, SEO strategy, and social media engagement.
* Track and analyze digital marketing performance, using insights to refine strategies.
* Develop and execute email marketing campaigns to nurture client relationships and prospects.
Client Engagement & Business Development Support:
* Partner with business development teams to create compelling proposals and pitch materials.
* Enhance client experience through strategic marketing initiatives and relationship-building efforts.
* Leverage data-driven insights to identify emerging opportunities and inform marketing decisions.
What the client is looking for in their Director of Marketing and Communications:
* 7+ years of experience in a marketing or communications leadership role within professional services (law, consulting, finance, etc.).
* Strong understanding of industry dynamics, business development, and client engagement strategies.
* Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
* Proficiency in digital marketing, content strategy, and PR campaign development.
