Overview
An opportunity for a CAMHS Consultant Psychiatrist at a low and medium secure hospital in Charlwood, Surrey. The unit treats male patients aged 18+ who have been detained under the Mental Health Act (1983).
You will be working for one of UK’s leading healthcare providers.
Key Responsibilities
* Review referrals and determine appropriateness for admission.
* Conduct admission assessments and maintain effective management plans of all young people on the unit.
* Conduct risk assessments and review them regularly.
* Allocate specialist psychological treatments in line with individual needs.
* Assess physical health.
* Ensure effective liaison with referring teams.
* Facilitate regular CPA review meetings.
* Act as Responsible Clinician for young people detained under the Mental Health Act.
* Involve in quality, inspections, and governance processes.
Qualifications and Experience
* Experience of CAMHS Forensic and/or Eating Disorders (desirable).
* Relevant experience within a similar setting and working with adults aged 18+.
* Approval under Section 12 of the Mental Health Act.
* Ability to work alongside and lead a multidisciplinary team.
* In-depth knowledge of Mental Health Legislation.
* Knowledge of risk assessment and risk management principles.
Requirements
Full GMC Registration is mandatory.
