Financial Accountant - £70,000 to £80,000 + Benefits
Location: North West London (On-site)
An established and growing SME based in North London is seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join their finance team. This is a hands-on, broad generalist finance role with three direct reports and a clear succession plan into a Financial Controller position.
The Role
Working closely with the Financial Controller, the Financial Accountant will take responsibility for:
Preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reporting
Leading on statutory accounts, audit preparation, and IFRS compliance
Managing cashflow, budgeting, and forecasting
Overseeing Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll through a team of three
Ensuring compliance with internal controls and reporting standards
Liaising with external auditors, tax advisors, and group finance
Supporting process improvements and systems development (Pegasus Opera)
This is a wide-ranging position with exposure across all areas of the finance function.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will bring:
A recognised accountancy qualification (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
Proven IFRS experience and strong technical accounting knowledge
Experience preparing both management and statutory accounts
A proactive and commercial mindset with attention to detail
Experience using Pegasus Opera or similar accounting software
Confidence in managing, mentoring, and developing a small finance team
