An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Offshore Embedded Wind Technician to join our Operations and Maintenance team at our Gwynt y Môr Offshore Wind Farm project based in Mostyn, Flintshire, UK.
This role is an embedded position in which, although employed by RWE you would be fully immersed into the Siemens Gamesa Renewables Energy (SGRE) manning structure and culture.
About The Role
1. Electro/Mechanical problem solving of wind turbines and associated plant, working in a team at heights up to 85m offshore with user manuals \ and or electronic devices to trace\ repair \ record issues
2. Accreditation under the wind turbine safety rules
3. Follow Siemens Gamesa Renewables Energy (SGRE), service provider, roster
4. Work to RWE Renewables Ltd annualised hours contract pattern
5. Train to SGRE Maintenance Technician level or higher, in order to lead service teams
6. Working safely individually or as a part of a team
7. Focus on high-quality maintenance activities, doing the right job, right, first time
8. Diligent safety leadership and promoter of the HSE culture on-site - ensure correct reporting of incidents and accidents, near misses, and unsafe acts and conditions in a timely manner
9. Communicate WTG defects with onsite supervisors/engineering team
10. Accurately record hours for work on IT devices provided
11. Attend mandatory training at off-site training locations periodically
Required Skills and Responsibilities
12. Demonstrate a flexible approach to work and be prepared to work alone or as part of a small multi-disciplined team
13. Demonstrate good communication skills and cross-functional working
14. Ability to maintain quality under peak workloads
15. Work to a high standard with minimal supervision
16. Own and work towards fulfilling an agreed personal development plan and demonstrate a willingness to learn
17. An experienced Mechanical \ Electrical Craftsperson \ Technician \ Engineer.
18. Knowledge of the wind industry would be an advantage but not necessary as training will be provided
19. Naturally flexible as we operate the wind farm 24 hours a day seven days a week which is tidally restricted
20. Knowledge and experience of safety rules systems in both WTSR and HV
21. Knowledge and experience of electronic maintenance management systems
