Location: Oxfordshire (please apply if wish to relocate to this area) Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 pa Working Hours: Monday to Friday: 7.00am - 4.00pm About the Role: We're looking for an experienced Workshop / Production Manager to oversee a vehicle interior conversion operation. In this role, you'll be responsible for coordinating coachbuilding activities, guiding a team of skilled fitters and ensuring each conversion is completed to a high standard, on schedule and within agreed costs. You'll play a hands-on role in planning and organising workloads, identifying potential issues before they escalate, and implementing practical solutions to maintain efficiency and quality. A strong focus on health and safety is essential, as you'll help foster a safe, well-run workshop where people can do their best work. Duties: Lead and oversee workshop personnel, offering clear direction and day-to-day support across a range of technical tasks
Ensure consistently high levels of build quality and finish
Manage materials, stock levels and ordering to support production demands
Troubleshoot technical challenges and provide guidance when required
Plan and schedule workshop activities to optimise productivity and meet delivery targets
Ensure compliance with all health, safety and operational procedures
Act as a point of contact for customers, suppliers and internal departments
Keep accurate documentation, reports and records; conduct appraisals and support ongoing staff development
Promote a positive, collaborative workplace culture through a proactive leadership approach
Skills and Experience: Proven background in supervising or managing a workshop or production environment
Confident, motivating leadership style with strong communication and organisational abilities
Comfortable working to deadlines, juggling priorities and managing competing demands
Practical problem-solver with a keen eye for detail
Competent with IT systems and administrative processes
Sound technical knowledge of vehicle fitting and conversion work
