This is a long-term opportunity starting in September 2025, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.
About the School:
Located in a leafy suburb of North Leeds, this forward-thinking school caters to pupils aged 7-16 with a range of SEMH needs. The school prides itself on its trauma-informed approach, small class sizes, and a strong emphasis on emotional literacy, resilience, and positive relationships.
Staff are supported by a highly experienced leadership team, in-house therapists, and regular CPD opportunities. The school has a warm, welcoming atmosphere and a strong sense of community.
Your Role Will Include:
* Supporting pupils on a 1:1 or small group basis, helping them to regulate emotions and engage in learning.
* Building trusting relationships with students who may have experienced trauma or disrupted education.
* Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff to implement behaviour support plans.
* Promoting a calm, safe, and structured learning environment.
* Encouraging social skills, self-esteem, and independence.
What We’re Looking For:
* Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, challenging behaviour, or additional needs.
* A calm, empathetic, and resilient approach.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
* A genuine passion for inclusive education and supporting vulnerable learners.
* Team Teach or similar de-escalation training is desirable (but not essential - training can be provided).
Why Join Through Reed Education?
* A dedicated consultant to support you throughout your placement.
* Access to free CPD and training opportunities.
* Competitive daily pay and weekly payroll.
* Opportunities for permanent roles in supportive schools.
