Working with the Lead Fleet & Engineering Manager, the Fleet Engineering Manager is a newly crafted role that will be part of the Dotcom Fleet Team who are responsible for leading over 6000 vehicles in the UK & ROI! You will be working collaboratively with our supply chain and other internal teams to help deliver effective engineering support! You'll also help to drive forward excellent levels of safety, reliability and presentation of our fleet while meeting all statutory & legislative requirements. Also to ensure compliance with the company's proactive and preventative maintenance regime. Please be aware this is a regional based role so travel across the country where required will be essential. Owning the Dotcom fleet's VOR Maintaining fleet compliance for all suppliers, ensuring this is within KPI and all vehicles are compliant. Analysing the compliance data to look for trends and improvements. Lead Supplier performance exceptions for KPI's relating to VOR & Compliance Delivery of the Fleet budget, identifying risks and opportunities and supporting the Lead Fleet & Engineering Manager with insight into manufacturer performance. Identifying product issues within the van fleet and raising these as concerns with the vehicle manufacturers. Co-ordination of EV onboarding, including local engagement with technicians and associated data review. Periodical reviews with suppliers to understand challenges from their side relating to repairers, costs & parts running the fleet database in relation to safe & legal, compliance and financials. Being the customer concern Point for cost authorisations. Dealing with store queries over damage charges. Run parts prices baskets for Tesco vans for our most used parts and identify potential savings Identify and lead different projects & processes to help with the current challenges on the fleet at a supplier or store level. Working with Manufacturers and the Dotcom training team to produce training materials on how to use new features on vans. Training suppliers on our fleet management platform and helping with any coding issues for recharge costs. Assisting store colleagues and suppliers with critical issues and queries. On call some evenings and weekends to deal with any urgent customer concerns. Engineering background with strong technical knowledge of commercial vehicles across both Diesel and Electric vehicles City and Guilds or NVQ Equivalent certification. Have a technical knowledge of commercial vehicles including an understanding of parts costs and maintenance standard repair times. Experience of commercial body repairs. Experience of leading a large and varied fleet portfolio and manging a budget with financial forecasting. Strong understanding of fleet legislation. Experience of implementing change A technical understanding of electric vehicles and required infrastructure. Excellent level of IT knowledge including the Microsoft Office package. Knowledge of the R2C fleet management system would be helpful but not crucial. Good interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced operational office environment.
