Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef or Kitchen Manager to lead our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in culinary arts and a proven track record in food production and kitchen management. As the Head of the Kitchen, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, safety, and presentation while fostering a positive and productive work environment.
Duties
* Supervise and manage the kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient operations.
* Oversee food preparation and cooking processes, ensuring all dishes are prepared to the highest standards.
* Develop and implement menus that reflect seasonal availability and customer preferences while maintaining cost control.
* Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain a clean, organised kitchen environment.
* Train new kitchen staff in food preparation techniques, safety protocols, and kitchen operations.
* Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction.
* Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, placing orders as necessary to maintain stock.
* Lead by example in demonstrating culinary techniques and fostering a culture of teamwork within the kitchen.
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Head Chef or in a similar role within a restaurant or hospitality setting.
* Strong supervisory skills with experience in team management and leadership.
* Extensive knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and culinary trends.
* Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene.
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong communication skills to effectively interact with both kitchen staff and front-of-house teams.
