Title: Operation Assistance Apprentice
Location: Ecclesfield Depot, S35 9YR, Ecclesfield, United Kingdom
Starting Salary: £25,913.00 per annum (Subject to review)
Working hours per week: Monday – Friday 7:00 – 15:00, 40 hours/week
Start date: April 2026
Apprenticeship: You will be enrolled onto a Business Administrator Level 3 apprenticeship, which will take approximately 21 months to complete. You will be supported by our partnered Training provider with 1-2-1 advice, e-learning, and a team of experts for guidance.
As part of Amey’s Traffic Management account, this role is based in Sheffield and is part of a larger partnership with Staffordshire County Council. A five-year contract extension has been awarded from October 2024, with additional funding.
What You Will Do
As an Operations Assistance Apprentice you will provide a wide range of administrative support to the wider operational team. You will be responsible for the following:
* Maintaining and updating records within management information systems.
* Undertaking general administrative duties as required by the team.
* Distributing and sharing information to ensure customer needs are met.
* Receiving and disseminating information to ensure delivery.
* Maintaining office systems in an orderly manner.
* Undertaking other basic business support duties as part of a team.
* Assisting with the delivery of services to the client as prescribed by team leader/management.
* Inputting to and maintaining spreadsheets/databases/systems and producing reports.
* Raising purchase orders and arranging payment of invoices.
* Assisting in planning work schedules.
* Supporting Health & Safety compliance within the team.
What You Will Bring
* If you do not hold GCSE/functional skills qualifications, you must achieve a minimum of entry level 3 in Maths and English during initial assessment.
* Full UK driver’s license.
* DBS requirement.
* Demonstrates reliability, punctuality, and a strong commitment to completing tasks effectively and on time.
