School Overview

This inclusive Primary and Nursery School in the heart of Leicester City Centre prides itself on creating a welcoming and nurturing environment where children can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Serving a highly diverse community, the school places a strong emphasis on early intervention, pastoral care, and supporting pupils with varying behavioural and emotional needs.

The leadership team recognises that early years behaviour often reflects underlying emotional or developmental challenges. With a growing number of pupils requiring additional support across Nursery, Reception, and Key Stage 1, the school has invested in robust pastoral systems, behaviour mentoring, and SEND provision.

Role Purpose

The Behaviour Mentor will support children experiencing difficulties with emotional regulation, social interaction, behaviour for learning, or engagement in school routines. Pupils may present with SEMH needs, ADHD, ASD, attachment difficulties, or developmental delays affecting social and emotional skills.

You will act as a consistent, calm, and trusted adult, supporting children in classrooms, small group interventions, and during unstructured times such as play and lunch. By nurturing relationships and implementing structured strategies, you will help pupils develop self-confidence, resilience, and social skills.

The Ideal Candidate

* Knowledge of SEND, SEMH, ASD, ADHD, or attachment-informed practice

* Confidence delivering behaviour interventions and tracking outcomes
