WORKSHOP FITTER / LABOURER BASED CUMBERNAULD, COMPETITIVE HOURLY RATE CIRCA £15P/H PLUS GOOD BENEFITS / OVERTIME Based In Cumbernauld, Grw Talent's client is a UK-based company that supplies and manufactures components and tools for earthmoving and construction machinery. The company operates across several UK locations and offers products such as tracks, rubber pads, bucket teeth, and custom buckets, along with repair and maintenance services. It recently was acquired by a global company enhancing its reach while retaining its brand and management. They are looking for a Workshop Fitter or Workshop Assistant to join their team. This role would be best suited to a candidate with experience in the following areas; Plant Fitter, HGV Mechanic, Heavy Plant Maintenance, Plant Fitter's Mate, Welder/Burner. For the right candidate a Workshop Labourer woud be considered and training given. The role will entail working on bulldozer and excavator tracked machines, overhauling tracked undercarriages in a workshop, and site environment, working with air impact wrenches, and oxy/propane cutting equipment, operating hydraulic track press equipment (Training will be given). Carrying out various maintenance on all undercarriage sizes. Responsibilities: Performing pad-swaps on various sizes of undercarriage groups Using power tools Ensuring a clean and safe working environment Collecting relevant stock for jobs Ensuring efficiency in the workshop whilst maintaining best practices with regards to health and safety Assisting in the fitting of undercarriage to machinery If not an experienced Workshop Fitter / Mechanical Fitter, you may have relevant experience as a labourer within a heavy plant environment or similar environment. You'll need experience using power tools and pneumatic tools and a strong understanding of health and safety awareness paramount as is strong attention to detail. Forklift licence advantageous. Further training & guidance can be provided for the right candidate. You'll need to have a genuine interest in this area and be a mechanically minded person who enjoys working with their hands.
