JOB TITLE: Planning Coordinator
LOCATION: Newcastle
Job Purpose:
The planning coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and optimizing engineering activities and maintenance schedules to ensure efficient operational performance and asset availability.
The role supports day-to-day operations by aligning engineering resources, materials, and timelines with production and maintenance goals.
Skills, Qualifications & Experience:
• 2 years of experience in technical or engineering role, with a track record of meeting or exceeding targets.
• Strong planning and organizational skills with an ability to manage multiple priorities.
• High attention to detail and accuracy in scheduling and documentation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to interpret data and performance trends.
• Effective communicator, capable of working with cross-functional teams including production, engineering, procurement and sales
• Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental standards in industrial settings.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and planning software
Responsibilities:
• Schedule and track engineering work orders
• Ensure that equipment and asset maintenance activities are aligned with operational and safety standards.
• Forecast and allocate resources, spare parts, and tools to support planned work.
• Prepare weekly and monthly maintenance and operations plans, integrating shutdown/turnaround schedules when necessary.
• Monitor execution of planned tasks, analyse deviations, and propose corrective actions.
• Develop and maintain short- and long-term plans for engineering operations, including preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance tasks.
• Coordinate planning activities with operations, maintenance, engineering, procurement, and HSE teams to minimise downtime and disruptions.
• Coordinate deliveries and collections in line with planned project work.
• Assist in continuous improvement initiatives by analysing operational data and identifying inefficiencies.
• Support compliance with asset integrity programs, safety inspections, and regulatory requirements
• Recommend improvements in planning capabilities
