Overview
Product Manager - Microsoft Dynamics 365. Up to 12 months fixed term contract. Full time / part time. Salary: £57,815pa – £65,021pa, with potential for progression to £73,211pa via pay progression scheme. Location: Hybrid. Contracted to ICO offices in Wilmslow, London, Edinburgh, Cardiff or Belfast; relocation to Manchester city centre from 28 September 2026. After the move, contracted office will be Circle Square, Manchester. Hybrid working with flexibility for home and office-based working; occasional in-person attendance or travel may be required due to business need.

Job summary
An exciting opportunity for an experienced Product Manager to join the DDaT function. You will lead the development of our Microsoft Dynamics 365 platform, shaping how we deliver scalable digital services. You will have proven experience delivering end-to-end Dynamics 365 implementations as well as configuration expertise. You will work with the wider DDaT team, set the product direction alongside a senior implementation partner, and use your delivery background to assess and refine solutions before they reach the backlog. You will have expertise across the Dynamics 365 ecosystem, understanding the capabilities and limits of Dataverse, Power Automate, and Copilot. Working within multidisciplinary teams, you will own the product roadmap, translating user needs and business priorities into impactful solutions. You will collaborate with stakeholders at all levels, influencing decisions and championing best practice to deliver modern and accessible services.

Key responsibilities
* Contribute to the early lifecycle of a new product as a key influencer and decision maker.
* Develop knowledge of user needs and business goals to frame problems and set delivery priorities.
* Design solution architecture relating to the product, in line with ICO architectural principles and in conjunction with the DDaT architecture directorate.
* Collaborate and consult with stakeholders to ensure product decisions align with product and DDaT strategies.
* Manage the product roadmap and backlog, and oversee delivery approaches. Where applicable, manage third-party support or development partners.
* Advise on reuse, sustainability and scalability to achieve value for money and reduce risk.
Key responsibilities
* Manage the operational process of running a product using product management principles to capture user needs and translate them into deliverables with multidisciplinary teams.
* Define the minimum viable product (MVP) and write user stories and acceptance criteria based on user needs.
* Work within constraints (technology, policy, regulatory, financial, legal) and ensure compliance by adapting the product as needed.
* Ensure conformity to best practice and standards including Technology code of practice and the GDS design standards.
* Understand ICO’s users/customers and translate user stories into design approaches to meet needs.
* Ensure accessibility guidelines, standards, laws and regulations are adhered to for new or existing products.
* Accountable for one or more products and their sub-parts, as agreed by management.
