We are looking for a Hire Desk Manager to join a successful, well-established construction rental company based in Essex.
As Hire Desk Manager, you will be at the heart of the operation—coordinating resources, leading planning activities, and ensuring seamless service delivery to customers. This is a dynamic, hands‑on role where no two days are the same, offering real responsibility and the chance to make a tangible impact.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee the day‑to‑day coordination of equipment, labour, and transport to ensure smooth operations.
* Develop effective work plans and manage bookings to maximise utilisation.
* Collaborate with workshop and yard teams to ensure equipment readiness and site organisation.
* Act as a key point of contact for customers, handling enquiries and orders with professionalism.
* Support and guide hire desk and operational teams to achieve daily targets.
* Promote a strong health and safety culture across all activities, ensuring compliance with company procedures and legal requirements.
* Drive efficiency through effective resource planning.
Requirements Of Role
* Preferably 4 years’ experience in a similar role within construction or a related industry.
* Strong communication, organisation and customer service skills.
* Experience working within the Crane Hire, Powered Access or Plant Hire industry is essential.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office and operational systems.
