Job Opportunity: Psychological Support Worker
Location: Monarch House, Queensway Industrial Estate, Arkwright Way, Scunthorpe, DN16 1AL
This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop core psychological knowledge and skills within the acute adult pathway, under the supervision of registered psychologists and clinical associate psychologists. The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary team in the Complex Emotional Needs pathway within a community mental health service.
Responsibilities include:
1. Conducting psychological assessments, formulations, and interventions for individuals with complex presentations, including co-facilitating group interventions.
2. Contributing to audit, service evaluation, and research activities to support service development.
3. Engaging positively with clients and their families/carers, demonstrating sensitivity and compassion.
4. Utilizing research skills for literature reviews, service development, and research initiatives.
5. Assisting with group work and evaluating therapy session outcomes.
6. Applying outcome measures and service user feedback to improve service delivery.
7. Receiving weekly supervision from psychological professionals.
8. Performing delegated tasks within supervisory guidelines and receiving additional support as needed.
9. Providing compassionate care based on empathy, kindness, respect, and dignity.
10. Maintaining awareness of local resources and self-help materials.
