Position Overview:

Are you ready to take your engineering skills to the next level? As a Field-based Machine Control Engineer, you will play a crucial role in transforming the construction industry. Reporting directly to the Installations Team Leader (Regional), you will provide exceptional customer support through on-site machine control installations, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs across various machine types and brands nationwide.

Job Description:

As an Installation Engineer, your primary responsibility will be the installation of Trimble hardware. This includes:

* Accurately measuring machine control systems on OEM (Trimble Earthworks, GSC900) dealer machines and customer construction equipment.

Major Job Functions:

* Installation: Lead on-site installations of SITECH/Trimble equipment across all OEMs, including Dozers, Excavators, Graders, Pavers, and Compactors.
* Service: Provide maintenance and support through call-outs, troubleshooting, and customer assistance (60% of your time).
* Measure & Calibration: Conduct calibration and re-calibration of SITECH/Trimble equipment as part of installations and support (10%).
* Operations: Collaborate with the Machine Control Installation Team Leader to meet customer requirements (5%).
* Documentation: Ensure operational quality by documenting post-installation testing (5%).
* Training & Development: Provide operator training to end-users and support the integration of technology (5%).
* Self-Management: Maintain high standards in all activities, ensuring documentation is complete and accurate.
* Results-Driven: Understand the importance of customer satisfaction and strive for first-time fixes and timely service.


Specific Skills:

* College or vocational qualification in Mechanical, Hydraulics, Electronics, or similar engineering.
* Proven ability to troubleshoot hydraulic and electrical issues on heavy equipment.
* Familiarity with construction site operations and machine control systems is a plus.
* IOSH, RAMS, and Health & Safety awareness with an up-to-date CSCS card.
* Experience in Arc welding is useful but not essential.
* Basic PC skills, including Microsoft Office applications.


Knowledge:

* Experience with construction equipment and technology is preferred.
* Understanding of field installation, calibration, and service support processes.
* Hands-on learning is essential during initial training.
* Supervision by a qualified SITECH Installation and Support Engineer will be provided.


Accountability:

* Installation Engineers
* Service controller - planner & scheduler
* Application Engineers
* Customer installations and calibrations
* Operations and Service Costs
* Effective time management to support SITECH and customer needs.


Education & Experience:

* Experience in an OEM or OEM Dealer site environment in an engineering/operations role.
* Field engineering experience is a plus.
* Strong customer service skills are essential.
