About Us

The London Clinic is one of the UK's largest independent hospitals, established in 1932 and based in Marylebone. As a charity, we reinvest in the latest treatments, technology and facilities to benefit our patients and staff.

We operate across eight sites with over 250 beds, 10 theatres and a leading cancer centre. Our consultant-led, nurse-intensive ICU is equipped with advanced technology and supports complex surgical and medical cases including oncology, gastrointestinal, haematology and orthopaedics.

You will join a supportive, high-performing team in an organisation known for excellence in patient care and investment in staff development.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Intensive Care Fellow to join our dedicated ICU team. This role offers exposure to a broad range of high-acuity cases and the opportunity to work closely with consultant intensivists and anaesthetists in a supportive and learning-focused environment.

You will be responsible for providing day-to-day medical care for critically ill patients, leading emergency responses for deteriorating patients across the hospital, supporting the Outreach team, and ensuring the safe transfer and continuity of care in collaboration with senior medical and nursing colleagues.

This post provides an excellent opportunity to strengthen advanced airway and procedural skills, gain experience in private sector critical care, and contribute to a team that values professionalism, collaboration, and clinical excellence.

Key Duties

* Review ICU patients daily and attend consultant-led ward rounds
* Lead the emergency medical response for deteriorating patients across the hospital
* Act as second responder to cardiac arrest calls
* Support the Outreach team and facilitate safe patient transfers
* Provide medical input to wards, theatres and anaesthetic emergencies (where relevant to skillset)
* Contribute to documentation, clinical audits, governance and teaching

Skills and Experience:

Please note that only applicants meeting the following criteria will be considered:

* Full GMC registration and licence to practise in the UK
* A minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience
* At least 12 months recent experience working in an Intensive Care Unit within the UK
* At least 6 months' experience in anaesthetics or proven advanced airway management skills
* ALS certification (PILS/APLS desirable)
* Strong competencies in intubation, line insertion, airway management, and mechanical ventilation
* Excellent communication, decision-making and organisational skills

Benefits

We offer a range of benefits including flexible working and great career opportunities. Our core benefits are:

* Private Medical Insurance
* Contributory pension scheme (total contribution up to 20%)
* 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
* Life assurance
* Travel season ticket loan
* Family friendly benefits
* A range of retail discounts
* Excellent career development; with clear career pathways and access to further education.

Why Join Us?

This is an opportunity to practise in a high-performing ICU with state-of-the-art facilities, a diverse caseload, and a consultant-led structure. You will be part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team where your expertise is valued and your professional growth is actively supported.

We are committed to safeguarding and protecting all adults at risk, children and young people by implementing robust safer recruitment practices during our selection process. Pre-employment checks are undertaken in accordance with industry standards and regulations, and successful applicants may be required to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure via the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
