Overview
The SET CAMHS crisis and therapeutic home treatment team offer assessment and interventions to young people presenting with mental deterioration or crisis. The service works within the Thrive model and develops collaborative care plans with community services and the community SET CAMHS team to promote positive outcomes for vulnerable young people and their families. There are opportunities for joint working and coordination with community-based teams. The approach focuses on meeting the needs of the young person to ensure effective clinical practice, brief therapeutic interventions, and risk reduction within a containing approach. New starters receive a full induction and opportunities to shadow the team and learn about the departments/teams within the SET CAMHS model. Internal candidates seeking career progression are welcome. Regular clinical supervision and reflective space are offered, and the team operates on a shared risk model for collective decision making and effective formulations of need.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will benefit from being part of a friendly, supportive, dynamic and developing service based within Essex. The successful candidate will work alongside highly motivated colleagues and have access to effective supervision, both individually and in groups, and CPD opportunities through relevant training. There will also be additional training and development opportunities as the service grows, including the opportunity to contribute to the care of young people within the A&E pathway.

NELFT places a high importance on properly welcoming and inducting new starters into the Trust. Induction includes mandatory training, systems training, equipment allocation, and opportunities to meet the executive team, senior managers and attend drop-in sessions. Induction is held at the head office in Rainham, Essex.

This post is open to Registered Mental Health Nurses (RMNs), Occupational Therapists (OT), Social Workers, Psychotherapists, Psychological Therapists, and Creative Therapists who will provide evidence-based interventions to young people and families within the Intensive Support Service Community Pathway. Applicants without registration but with significant CAMHS experience may be considered.
Qualifications & Requirements
Essential
* Professional qualification (e.g., RMN, OT, Social Work, Counselling, Psychotherapy or equivalent)
* Current professional registration or significant CAMHS experience
* Ability to communicate in highly emotive situations
* Experience of mental health in hospital and community settings
* Experience in formulating care and treatment plans
Other
* Flexibility to work 7 days a week 365 days a year, including unsociable hours
* Independent working ability with collaborative MDT involvement; understanding networks around young people and mental health
* Ability to perform high-quality MH and risk assessments and deliver talking therapies in various settings (home, college, school, community, A&E)
* Ability to formulate highly specialist care and treatment plans and produce detailed written assessments in a timely manner
* Experience in managing electronic records and handling busy workloads as part of a team
