Today, more than 7,500 organisations – from the NHS to leading private sector businesses – trust us to support 4 million employees worldwide. We’re raising the bar for what employee benefits can be – and together, we’ll redefine what work feels like!

📍UK Remote

Does this sound like you?

You’re an experienced counselling professional who thrives in a supportive, collaborative environment—where personal and professional growth is not just encouraged but expected. You’re motivated by the chance to make a real difference, both for clients and your team, and you're ready to take on a role where leadership, compassion, and innovation go hand in hand.

You’re eager to lead, inspire, and nurture a team of counsellors, providing clinical supervision, mentorship, and a safe space for development. You’re passionate about helping others thrive, both within your team and the wider organisation, and you're ready to be a visible and influential figure in a growing, impactful organisation.

What you’ll be doing (in a nutshell):

As a Senior Counsellor in our EAP team, you’ll play a dual role of providing clinical expertise and leading a dedicated team of 8–10 counsellors. You’ll ensure the highest standard of care for clients while promoting the continuous development and well-being of your team.

You’ll deliver a confidential, 24/7 support service across various channels—telephone, virtual, and face-to-face—covering issues like depression, anxiety, stress, debt advice, and family matters. Your leadership will foster a culture of empathy, resilience, and clinical excellence.

Day to day you can expect to:

* Lead and manage a team of 8–10 counsellors through regular supervision, performance reviews, and well-being check-ins.

* Deliver one-on-one clinical and peer supervision alongside case management.

* Carry a small caseload of clients, providing specialized interventions and support.

* Collaborate with Senior Managers to ensure adherence to TERC’s values and clinical standards.

* Organise induction training, ongoing development, and performance evaluations for new and existing team members.

* Support the continuous professional development (CPD) of your team through workshops and training sessions.

* Conduct risk assessments, develop risk management plans, and manage complex clinical cases with sensitivity and professionalism.

* Be part of the clinical on-call rota, ensuring comprehensive support is available when needed.

* Contribute to service development through innovative clinical practices and process improvements.

* Deliver post-incident support and interventions for staff following traumatic events.

To be successful you’ll have:

Essential:

* Professional Registration

* Degree or equivalent experience in a health-related field

* Significant experience in managing and leading a counselling or clinical team

* Expertise in short-term, solution-focused interventions

* Strong skills in clinical decision-making, conflict resolution, and managing immediate client risk

* Excellent communication, problem-solving, and report-writing abilities

* Ability to motivate, develop, and nurture both individuals and teams

* A deep commitment to safeguarding, equality, and diversity in practice

Desirable:

* Postgraduate Diploma in a relevant field (e.g., trauma, group work, consultation)

* Formal training in clinical supervision

* Experience in multi-agency partnership work

Please note, all applicants must be legally entitled to accept and perform work in the UK and all positions are subject to an enhanced DBS check.
