The Role
The Logistics Manager is an exciting new role in the business that is much needed, helping us to fuel our ambitions to be the leading global homewares brand.
You will be part of the wider operations team that is based at our UK warehouse in Peterborough. This role will be accountable for the movement of our stock from supplier through to our USA 3PL based in NJ, and UK warehouse, and then out to our Global customer base.
The ideal candidate will have a mindset for continuous improvement with the goal to achieve best-in-class standards.
* Accountable for the operational budget on inward and outward freight
* Deliver operational KPIs on freight and carrier performance.
* Develop and implement robust logistics and distribution processes and strategies to deliver our beautiful products to our customers and develop freight solutions as we expand into new categories.
* Have a clear understanding of imports and exports into and out of the USA and UK markets from a global supplier base, including HS codes, duties and tariffs.
* Own the data accuracy and visibility of all stock movement from order through to delivery to the customer
* Drive an improvement culture, innovating and developing operational processes and systems
* Work cross-functionally with the buying, operational and customer service teams to ensure we're efficient with costs and managing customer expectations.
Requirements
* Experience in managing freight inwards in a hyper scaleup physical/digital, DTC environment with a complex supply base.
* An excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills
* Ability to manage and own carrier relationships with excellent negotiation skills to ensure we have the best rates
* A keen interest in the macro environment trends impacting shipping costs
* Analytical and data-driven; you love to back up your decisions with hard facts, stats and numbers
* Project management skills such as leading developing new freight solutions or stock relocation projects preferred
* Commercial management skills being able to conduct analysis, identify marginal gains and lead tenders and commercial negotiations.
