Join to apply for the Locum Consultant Clinical Geneticist role at Birmingham Women's and Children's Hospital and Charity.
The successful applicant will join a thriving Clinical Genetics Service serving a large and diverse population. The service is part of a comprehensive Genomics service co-located with the West Midlands Genomics Laboratory, offering opportunities for clinical research and service development. We are an active training centre for Clinical Geneticists and Genetic Counsellors.
Responsibilities
* Support a clinical genetics service with 9 clinic sessions per month in line with professional guidance. Clinic sessions take place in the Birmingham area and in regional centres across the West Midlands.
* Work within a large department with sub-specialty expertise, collaborating with Genetic Counsellors, Genomic Associates, Practitioners and an experienced administrative team.
* Develop a specialty interest to suit the post-holder’s interests and the needs of the department, with continuing professional development as laid down by the Royal College of Physicians.
* Participate in annual appraisal and revalidation processes as arranged by the Trust.
* Availability for study leave and financial support to attend courses and conferences.
* Role is for 10 Programmed Activities per week; requests to work part-time will be considered.
Location and Team
Location: Birmingham area and regional centres across the West Midlands. The Trust provides family-centric care and benefits from an established operational management team aligned with NHSE, Trust and wider strategic priorities.
