Associate Solicitor - Family Department
 * Location: Newport

We are seeking an Associate Solicitor to join our Client's Family Department in Newport. This role is pivotal in contributing to the smooth running of the firm, enhancing the department's expertise, and supporting the growth and reputation of the firm. The successful candidate will manage all aspects of allocated cases and provide support to partners and support staff within the department.
Day-to-day of the role:
 * Manage and oversee the general responsibilities of the Family Department, ensuring alignment with the firm's business plan.
 * Lead and motivate other fee-earners and support staff within the department.
 * Develop and implement business initiatives to improve department workloads.
 * Attend external business activities and events regularly, with a target of once per month.
 * Participate actively in management meetings and subcommittees as required.
 * Support various managers in running the department effectively.
 * Strengthen existing client relations and introduce new clients to the firm.
 * Ensure a safe working environment within your area of responsibility.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
 * Admission to the Solicitors Roll or Institute for Paralegals with a desired 5 years PQE in the relevant work area.
 * Demonstrated ability to think strategically, prioritise, and make decisions.
 * Excellent communication skills, capable of effectively engaging with a diverse range of individuals.
 * Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead and develop an effective team.
 * Proficient in managing stress and conflict within the workplace.
 * Understanding of health and safety issues within the workplace.
