An opportunity has arisen to join the well-established and supportive Safeguarding Team.

You will join a team of nurses from different branches and specialisms to complement our corporate safeguarding advice and support offer to staff in the Trust.

Our team works hard to promote safeguarding within the organisation, and we work with partners across Bradford, Airedale and Craven to develop and improve quality and to develop effective, robust systems and processes.

The role of Safeguarding Practitioner requires a highly motivated, dynamic and passionate individual with proven and extensive experience of working within the safeguarding children’s agenda.

Main duties of the job

1. Facilitating safeguarding adults and children training
2. Facilitating safeguarding adult and child supervision
3. Supporting staff via the safeguarding team advice and support service on matters relating to safeguarding adult and child concerns
4. Supporting staff with child protection legal statements
5. Fully engaging in multi-agency working
6. Being a specialist in supporting the identification of safeguarding risk to children and adults, advising on such, and escalating when necessary.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Job Overview Continued-

The post holder should be an exceptional communicator, problem solver and able to build positive and effective relationships.

We have an office base at New Mill, Saltaire and work between there and virtually at home to support all BDCFT health services. There may be requirements to attend multi-agency meetings across the district.

We are looking for individuals with strong leadership and management skills who are able to support BDCFT staff to ensure best practice and who are able to work with partner agencies, influencing best practice and providing assurance.

BDCFT Safeguarding team works between an office base at New Mill Saltaire and virtually at home to support all BDCFT health services. There may be occasions when multi-agency meetings need to be attended across the district.

It is required to be a car driver with a valid Driving License.

15. •3 years post qualifying experience working with children and or adults.
16. •Evidence of post qualifying experience of adult and/or child safeguarding as a caseload holder.

Knowledge

17. •Knowledge of legal framework of safeguarding children and adults
18. •Knowledge of Mental Capacity Act/Deprivation of Liberty and Best Interests.
