Appleby Westward is the SPAR Wholesaler and Retailer covering the West of England.
Our Retail Distribution Centre and Support Offices are based in Saltash, Cornwall, where we employ around 2,000 colleagues supporting our wholesale distribution operations for both our independent retail estate and company-owned retail stores, as well as our SPAR network.
Our SPAR retail stores are the leading convenience brand, operating in communities from Chichester in the east to Land's End in the west, and to Bristol and Salisbury in the north. We offer convenience goods, groceries, chilled foods, food-to-go, and essential local services at selected locations, including Post Office services, lottery, and online collection and delivery services.
We pride ourselves on serving our communities and providing efficient, quality customer service. We are also active in local charity and community support, fundraising for local organizations and our main charity partner, Marie Curie.

Westward Ho! is a seaside village near Bideford in North Devon, known for its long sandy beach, popular with surfers and families, and for being the only place in the UK with an exclamation mark in its name. Developed in the Victorian era, it remains a popular holiday destination with stunning coastal views and access to the South West Coast Path. The Customer Service Assistant Role

* Warm Welcomes: Greeting customers with a smile, providing excellent service, and supporting our community.
* Store Standards: Ensuring smooth store operations.
* Customer Satisfaction: Using product knowledge, staying updated with promotions, and creating eye-catching displays.
* Transaction Accuracy: Processing sales accurately, cashing up tills, and securing company monies.
* Stock Management: Receiving, replenishing, and displaying stock.
* Cleanliness: Maintaining a clean and tidy store environment.
* Legal Compliance and Food Quality: Ensuring product quality and compliance with labelling and allergen regulations.
* Age-Related Sales: Complying with Age-Related Sales regulations and Think 25 guidance.
* Health and Safety: Following all health and safety guidelines to ensure safety for colleagues and customers.
