Front-End Lead | Positive Impact Climatetech Scale Up
A high-growth tech company is looking for a Front-End Lead to take ownership of its front-end strategy and guide a major shift from a monolithic setup to a modern micro-frontend architecture. This is a hands-on leadership role with direct influence over engineering standards, technical direction, and team growth.
What You’ll Do
* Lead the migration to a micro-frontend architecture (e.g. Module Federation, single-spa).
* Own and evolve the React/TypeScript codebase, removing technical debt and driving refactoring.
* Build a scalable component library and design system.
* Architect high-performance geospatial visualisation using tools like DeckGL or similar.
* Implement strong engineering practices: testing, code reviews, performance optimisation, accessibility, and observability.
* Set up monitoring, error tracking, and front-end performance dashboards.
* Mentor engineers, run planning sessions, and support a culture of quality and collaboration.
* Drive improvements in build tooling, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment workflows.
What You Need
* 4+ years in front-end engineering, including leadership experience.
* Expert React and TypeScript skills.
* Strong state management experience (Zustand, Redux).
* Experience with architectural migrations or modular front-end patterns.
* Knowledge of geospatial or visualisation tools (DeckGL, Mapbox, Leaflet).
* Strong understanding of performance optimisation and modern build tools.
* Experience setting engineering standards, reviewing code, and mentoring teams.
Nice to Have
* Micro-frontend experience.
* Familiarity with data-vis libraries (D3, Plotly, Recharts).
* Testing frameworks (Jest, Cypress, Playwright).
* Experience with cloud deployments or real-time dashboards.
