The Job:
Our client is seeking a motivated and customer focused Sales & Customer Service Operative to join their team in Cambridge. This is a varied role combining customer service, sales support, order processing and stock related duties within a busy agricultural and rural supplies environment. The successful candidate will enjoy working with customers, identifying sales opportunities and helping to ensure the smooth day to day operation of the branch.

Key responsibilities:
- Providing excellent customer service both in person and over the phone
- Assisting customers with product enquiries and offering suitable recommendations
- Preparing quotations and following up sales opportunities
- Processing customer orders and keeping customers informed throughout the sales process
- Maintaining accurate sales and customer records
- Monitoring market trends and competitor activity
- Supporting stock ordering and helping to maintain product availability
- Working closely with warehouse, transport and administration teams to ensure efficient customer service
- Assisting with merchandising and maintaining an attractive retail environment
- Supporting trade shows, events and promotional activities as required
- Undertaking general branch duties to support the wider team

The Candidate:
- Previous experience in a sales, customer service, retail or trade counter environment
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- A proactive and positive approach to work
- Confidence using computer systems and learning new software
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Experience within agriculture, horticulture, merchanting or rural retail would be advantageous but is not essential

The Package:
- Salary of £26,500 - £36,500 per annum DOE

- Working Hours Monday to Friday, 7:30am - 5:00pm
- 40-hour working week

Candidate Requirements
All applicants must hold a minimum of an NVQ Level 2, Scottish NVQ Level 2, or an equivalent qualification relevant to the role applied for. Candidates must also have the legal right to work in the UK or hold a valid visa permitting employment.
