Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced MBE / MBSE Specialist to support our customer in implementing Model-Based Engineering principles across the product development lifecycle. This role involves creating integrated, coherent digital engineering data sets and supporting the adoption of best practices within the customer’s chosen engineering toolchain.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and manage exemplar information sets representing key aspects of the product lifecycle, including:
* MBSE models at multiple breakdown levels (system, subsystem, equipment).
* Associated systems engineering artifacts (requirements, proving/test points, design statements, test management artifacts).
* Viewpoints linking systems engineering with mechanical, electrical, software, and performance domains.
* Configure and optimize MBE toolchains (IBM ELM, Rhapsody, Matlab).
* Support meta-modeling activities and trade-off analysis for fit-for-purpose approaches.
* Integrate and merge exemplar information sets from multiple feature teams.
* Develop executable models and simulations to ensure digital continuity.
* Provide technical guidance, best practices, and tool mentoring, including demos and user guides.
* Participate in sprint planning and workload management with feature teams.
* Act as a technical point of contact for stakeholders and report progress to the customer’s technical leads.
Essential Skills & Experience
* Current SC Clearance and ability to commute to Bristol.
* Strong expertise in MBE and MBSE methodologies and frameworks.
* Proficiency in SysML modeling and configuration/change management.
* Hands-on experience with tools such as:
* IBM ELM suite (DOORS Next, ETM, EWM, GC)
* IBM Rhapsody
* Capella
* Matlab Simulink
* Knowledge of ALM & PLM concepts for digital continuity.
* Ability to produce guidance documents, best practice notes, and conduct technical walkthroughs.
* Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
Desirable
* Experience in defence or complex engineering environments.
* Familiarity with PTC Windchill, Zuken, and scripting for tool automation.
