Your Role
As a Design Engineer, you'll work on everything from minor machine tweaks to full-scale bespoke systems. You'll:
* Develop and prove mechanical concepts using electrical and pneumatic components
* Liaise directly with customers from design to commissioning
* Create detailed manufacturing drawings (BS8888 compliant)
* Ensure designs meet industry regulations and customer expectations
* Collaborate across departments to ensure smooth production and delivery
* work with projects internally, within other subsidiary's within the Hexadex group
* Occasionally travel to customer sites (overnight stays may be required)
What You'll Bring
* Mechanical Engineering qualification (Apprenticeship, HNC, HND, Degree)
* Design engineering background, ideally spent with machinery or designing moving parts. Must have a proven background of experience.
* Proficiency in 3D CAD (Solidworks, Inventor or Solidedge)
* Familiarity with Solidworks PDM Vault and ERP/MRP systems
* Hands-on approach to testing and problem-solving
* Experience in automated machinery design (food/pharma sectors a plus)
* Strong communication and multitasking skills
