Learning Support Assistant – SEMH / Behaviour Support (South Tyneside)
Protocol Education, a leading education recruitment agency with over 20 years’ experience in placing high-quality staff in schools nationwide, is working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive school based in South Tyneside. They are seeking a dedicated and experienced Learning Support Assistant to join their team from September.
About the role:
* Full-time, 5 days per week
* Term time only
* Supporting students on a 1:1 basis, primarily focusing on social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH) and behavioural support
* Working under the guidance of the SENCO and class teacher to deliver tailored interventions, manage behaviour positively, and help pupils reach their potential
* Opportunity for the position to become permanent later in the academic year for the right candidate
About you:
* Previous experience supporting students with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour is essential
* Confident working on a 1:1 basis to build trust and implement effective strategies
* Calm, resilient, and able to manage situations with empathy and consistency
* Hold or be willing to obtain a valid DBS on the Update Service

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
