Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Porter to join our team in the hospitality sector. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring a welcoming and clean environment for our guests. This position requires a proactive individual who can manage various tasks efficiently while providing excellent guest services. This role is on a as needed basis, so would be to cover staff sickness and holidays.
Responsibilities
* Greet guests warmly and assist them with their needs, ensuring a positive first impression.
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the lobby, corridors, and other public areas.
* Assist with luggage handling for guests, including transporting items to and from their rooms.
* Monitor and replenish supplies in common areas as needed.
* Respond promptly to guest inquiries and requests, demonstrating exceptional phone etiquette.
* Collaborate with other hotel staff to ensure seamless operations and guest satisfaction.
* Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate department.
* Uphold hotel standards of cleanliness and presentation at all times.
Qualifications
* Previous experience in a hotel or hospitality environment is preferred but not essential.
* Strong guest service skills with the ability to communicate effectively in English; bilingual or multilingual abilities are an advantage.
* Excellent phone etiquette and interpersonal skills to engage with guests professionally.
* Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
* A friendly, approachable demeanour with a commitment to providing outstanding service.
* Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays as required.
* Set up breakfast for guests self serve buffet, monitor stock and ensure reception staff are aware of any stock needed.
