Head of Sales & Business Development - UK - £35,000–£40,000 DOE + Bonus
The Job:
A growing agricultural business is looking for a commercially focused Head of Sales & Business Development to support the next stage of expansion across the UK and overseas markets. This is a varied role where you’ll be responsible for driving sales growth, building long term customer relationships, and identifying new commercial opportunities. You’ll work closely with the Managing Director, helping shape business strategy while also improving systems and processes as the company continues to scale.
The role would suit someone who enjoys working within a fast-moving SME environment and wants the opportunity to make a real impact within a growing business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement sales and business growth strategies
- Build and manage customer relationships across the UK, Europe, and the Middle East
- Identify new markets, partnerships, and commercial opportunities
- Support improvements to systems, processes, and overall business operations
- Work closely with senior management to help drive long-term growth plans
- Represent the business at agricultural shows, events, and industry meetings
- Maintain strong customer service and long-term client relationships
- Support overall commercial performance and business development activity
The Company:
A well established specialist agricultural business that has seen strong growth in recent years, operating across the UK and international markets. The company works within the livestock sector and has built a strong reputation for delivering specialist services and maintaining long term customer relationships.
The Candidate:
- Previous experience in sales, business development, or commercial management
- Experience working within a growing SME business environment
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Commercially minded with a proactive approach to growth and opportunities
- Organised and comfortable managing multiple projects and priorities
- Self-motivated, driven, and able to work independently
- Agricultural or service-sector experience essential
- Confident representing the business professionally within the industry
The Package:
- Salary £35,000 – £40,000 DOE
- Performance related bonus
- Full-time position, Monday to Friday (40 hours per week)
- Travel expenses covered

Candidate Requirements
All applicants must hold a minimum of an NVQ Level 2, Scottish NVQ Level 2, or an equivalent qualification relevant to the role applied for. Candidates must also have the legal right to work in the UK or hold a valid visa permitting employment.
