EdEx are exclusively working with a mainstream secondary school in Kensington & Chelsea to find two Teaching Assistants (Aspiring Speech and Language Therapist – Teaching Assistant) to work in the schools Speech, Communication and Language provision, supporting children with various needs including Speech and Language, Communication, Social, Autism (Verbal and Non‑Verbal) needs and more.

* Opportunity to take part and lead specialist interventions in Lego Therapy, Speech and Language, Zones of Regulation and more.
* Work closely with specialist teachers, therapists and psychologists to best support secondary‑aged pupils with various needs.
* Receive training and support from day one – with no day being the same, working across Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 5.
* Support various students with wide‑ranging needs 1‑2‑1 and in small groups, inside and outside of the classroom.
If you are a graduate considering a career in Speech and Language Therapy, Psychotherapy, Educational Psychology, Clinical Psychology, this school will give you all the experience you need ahead of embarking on a PhD or MA/MSc or even Assistant Psychologist (AP) roles with the NHS.
What experience will you need to do these Aspiring Speech and Language Therapist – Teaching Assistant roles?
* A graduate with a 1st Class or 2:1 – subject isn’t a barrier, ideally from a reputable university.
* Good A‑Levels and GCSEs – including English at GCSE.
* Previous experience supporting children, young people or adolescents – essential.
* Experience could be tutoring, nannying, babysitting, volunteering or personal experience.

* A genuine passion for supporting young people with barriers to learning.
* An inquisitive, warm and nurturing personality.
* Must be able to speak confidently and calmly – personality is everything in these roles.

ROLE DETAILS – Aspiring Speech and Language Therapist – Teaching Assistant:
* Teaching Assistant – supporting various needs and Speech & Language.
* Monday to Friday – no weekends.
* School hours – typically 8:30 am – 4:00 pm.
* £108 – £115 per day – paid weekly (term time only).
* September starts.
* Long‑term contract – at least for an academic year.
