Job summary Looking for a new challenge? An exciting new opportunity has arisen to join the Cancer Services pharmacy team at University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust as we expand our technical workforce. We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Medicines Management Pharmacy Assistant to support us in the delivery of excellent hospital pharmacy services.

Main duties of the job This is an opportunity to join our friendly, committed team working in a support role. This role will be integral in supporting the provision of clinical services to patients on the wards and in clinical areas within the Macmillan Cancer Centre. You will provide dispensing services and assist with the supply of medicines to help facilitate a streamlined workflow ensuring key performance targets are met. The successful candidate must be self‑motivated, able to work independently, flexible and adaptable, and committed to self‑development. Experience in a hospital or community pharmacy and a minimum of NVQ level 2 in Pharmacy services or equivalent is required.

Person Specification – Knowledge and Qualifications

* A General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) recognised qualification for pharmacy support staff e.g. a Level 2 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent (obtained either in community or hospital)
* GCSE Maths and English (grades A to C) or equivalent
* Knowledge of procedures for pharmacy services
* Knowledge of pharmacy computer systems

* Experience of stock control
* Experience of dispensing
* Experience of dealing with members of the public
* Ability to work without direct supervision
* Experience of working in a team

* Good verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills (with patients and staff of all levels)
