Longbridge Deverill Nursing Home is looking to appoint a Chef.
Our purpose-built care home accommodates 60-residents and provides outstanding Residential, Dementia, Nursing and Respite care for the elderly.
As chef, you will work alongside the Head Chef to deliver a high quality of food to our residents and ensure the kitchen operates in a timely manner.
Chef Contract
£13.00 per hour
Contracted to 30-hours per week

5.6 weeks annual leave

Skills, Knowledge & Qualifications
City & Guilds 706 1 & 2, or equivalent qualification (achieved or working towards)
Team player.
Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
Good communication skills.
Ability to work on own initiative.
Desired
Previous management or supervisory experienced.
Experience of food preparation for the relevant Service User group.
Experience working in a care environment would be advantageous but not a deal-breaker.
Main Responsibilities
Prepare, cook, and serve hot and cold meals, as and when required.
Liaise with the Head Chef to provide a balanced nutritious diet, making the best use of available fresh foods.
Supervise and instruct kitchen staff members in the use of all equipment and hygiene procedures, giving help and guidance where appropriate.
Maintain and improve professional knowledge and competence.
Follow HACCP procedures.
Ensure statutory Health & Safety standards in the kitchen and dining areas.
Ensure all crockery and equipment is cleaned and stored appropriately, and that the overall cleaning of the kitchen area and dining areas is carried out effectively.
