Overview
Plymouth (Futures) and working off site across the ETFG region.
TERM TIME ONLY ROLE - 41 WEEKS
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Job Coach to provide personalised support to supported interns, and host employers. The Job Coach will have a key focus on the development of employability skills that will help lead to paid employment opportunities.
The Job Coach role plays a crucial role in helping young individuals with learning disabilities gain the skills and experience needed for employment.
As a Job Coach, you will play a key role in identifying suitable tasks for interns, collaborating with employers to ensure that responsibilities align with the intern's capabilities. You will also develop tools such as Task Boards to support interns in performing tasks independently.
The role involves providing ongoing support throughout the intern’s placement, ensuring their successful transition to independent work. If a task is too complex initially, you may suggest JobCarving, breaking tasks down into smaller steps to build the intern's skills over time.
You will be responsible for regularly visiting interns on placement to monitor their progress and provide assistance when needed. Additionally, you will work closely with employers to ensure they have the tools and information to support the intern, including providing written guidance on the intern's needs and safeguarding considerations.
To ensure a smooth onboarding, you will host a ‘Meet & Greet’ session with employers before the intern begins their placement to establish a strong working relationship.
This role will involve working flexibly to meet the needs of interns and their employers. This may include evening and weekend work.
