Join our International Geotechnical team as a Principal Geotechnical Engineer. Lead projects from feasibility to detailed design, coordinate teams, and ensure compliance with standards to help shape a sustainable world.
Your key responsibilities will include:
* Preparing and checking engineering designs, technical documents, and calculations, supervising design document production for client delivery
* Coordinating a team of engineers and technicians, developing their technical skills
* Assisting junior engineers towards Chartered status
* Organising and coordinating projects, including site supervision when needed
* Overseeing conceptual design development
* Developing project controls and monitoring progress against schedules
* Ensuring designs meet current standards, codes, and best practices
* Undertaking geotechnical design work compliant with Eurocodes
* Preparing expressions of interest and tenders, including cost estimates
* Coordinating external contractors and design checkers
* Maximising business development opportunities
* Reporting on project administration, resources, and budgets
* Developing and assuring the technical quality of designs, including 3D models and reports

You will also have:
* An MSc or MEng in Engineering Geology or Civil Engineering with significant Geotechnical experience
* Chartered status (CGeol or CEng or equivalent)
* Experience in a design environment, with some site experience preferred
* Advanced skills in numerical modelling (e.g., 3D Plaxis or similar)
* Knowledge of geotechnical software (Geo Studio suite or similar)
* Familiarity with statutory processes and standards, including Eurocodes
* Experience in rail, tunnelling, or infrastructure sectors
* Understanding of CDM Regulations for designers
* Broad geotechnical design capabilities (tunnels, earthworks, retaining structures, foundations, soil mechanics)
* Risk assessment knowledge
* Ability to organise time and coordinate with others
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
