Fire Safety Specialist (DSEAR Specialist) – Contract Location: Bridgewater, Somerset Duration: Until 31st December 2026 (With the posibility of Extention) Days on Site: 5 days per week Rate: Up to £500 per day / Inside IR35 We are looking for an experienced DSEAR Specialist to join the fire safety team on a major nuclear construction project. This is a key contract role providing expert advice and assurance on the safe management of dangerous substances and explosive atmospheres. Key Responsibilities: * Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for DSEAR, providing specialist guidance and support to the project and contractors * Conduct, review, and approve DSEAR risk assessments and hazardous area classifications * Develop and maintain DSEAR policies, arrangements, and procedures to ensure full regulatory compliance * Implement and oversee control measures for fire and explosion prevention * Support the review of DSEAR assessments carried out by other organisations * Provide advice and assurance to regulators and stakeholders * Investigate DSEAR-related incidents * Promote a strong DSEAR awareness and compliance culture across the site * Work closely with fire safety, chemicals, environment, and electrical teams Essential Skills & Experience * In-depth knowledge of DSEAR 2002, ATEX Directives, and associated Approved Codes of Practice (ACoPs) * Strong understanding of ex...
