An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and caring Salaried GP to join our friendly, high achieving and supportive group of practices.
What We Offer
* 6 sessions per week
* 1 session per week CPD (pro-rata for p/t)
* 6 weeks annual leave, plus 1 week study leave per annum (pro-rata for p/t)
Responsibilities
* Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers in the organisation.
* Screening patients or disease risk factors with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
* Developing care plans for health in consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols.
* Responding appropriately to medical problems presented by patients of the practice including examination, investigation, diagnosis, treatment and referral as necessary.
* Working to the established practice protocols.
* Filling in all necessary computer templates concerned with the medical care, summarising and audit of the care of patients of the practice.
* Adhering rigorously to the practice drug formulary.
* Playing an active part in the practices rolling programme of quality assurance and clinical audit and prescribing schemes.
* Attending meetings concerned with any aspect of the care of patients of the practice.
* Maintaining accurate medical records to a standard commensurate with a high-quality General Practitioner.
* Home visiting where necessary.
* Participation in internal and external audit.
* Engaging in appropriate educational activity and personal development in order to maintain clinical and managerial competence and performance.
* Liaison with both clinical and non-clinical staff and with attached health professionals.
* Completing reports for non-GMS purposes.
* Supporting the supervision of students or GP registrars.
* Any other appropriate tasks as decided by the Partners from time to time, including being Duty Doctor.
Other responsibilities within the organisation
* Awareness of and compliance with all relevant practice polices/guidelines e.g. prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health and safety.
* A commitment to life-long learning and audit to ensure evidence-based best practice.
* Attending training and events organised by the practice or other agencies, where appropriate.

* Fully Qualified GP eligible to work in General Practice in the NHS

About us
Elmham Group of Practices (EGoP) is a GP Surgery in rural Mid-Norfolk serving a population of 10,000 patients across two sites in Elmham and Swanton Morley. Our main site is set in beautiful surrounding countryside in North Elmham with the other site within comfortable proximity. The fine City of Norwich is easily reached by car within 35 minutes.
EGoP has a team of 40+ health care professionals and administration support staff. Both sites offer a welcoming and friendly environment to work in and team spirit amongst surgery staff is high. The 5 Partners, Management Team, Clinical Team and Administration Team communicate well between them.
Our fantastic multi-skilled clinical team consists of general practitioners, nurse practitioners, practice nurses and health care assistants to carry out all the necessary duties to deliver a comprehensive General Practice service to our patients ensuring the highest standard of care to all our patients. We are part of the PCN for Mid Norfolk and through our network we have a range of ARRS roles within our practice to support us in delivering high-quality care to our patients. The practice employs its own pharmacist and visiting nurses. Location Elmham has an on-site Dispensary. We are proud to be a training practice to GP Registrars.
