About the Role
We are currently looking for a generic rehabilitation assistant to join a well-established multidisciplinary team within Therapy and Rehabilitation Services at The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery (NHNN) in Central London.
We are looking for people with initiative, organisational abilities and a mature approach who can work under the supervision of the multi‑disciplinary rehabilitation team.
You must be enthusiastic about assisting people of differing abilities and willing to help patients to undertake a range of practical aspects of personal and daily life.
You need to have a flexible approach and be able to adapt to different work areas.
This post offers the postholder the opportunity to work across a number of service areas – stroke, neuro‑rehabilitation, acute neuro‑medical and neuro‑surgery – moving across these areas to support the demand in each team.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist patients under supervision with daily living activities across stroke, neuro‑rehabilitation, acute neuro‑medical and neuro‑surgery settings.
* Support patients in undertaking practical aspects of personal and daily life.
* Adapt to different work areas and support team demands.
* Engage in professional development projects within the peer group.
Qualifications
* Good general education.
* Previous experience in a healthcare or community care environment.
* Effective communication and a positive approach to the management of complex disability.
* Initiative, organisational ability and a mature approach.
