Job title: UAS Support Engineer - Unmanned Air System (Drone)
Location: Maidenhead, Berkshire
Salary range: £35,000 - £50,000 DOE

Malloy Aeronautics Limited specialises in the development of heavy lift Unmanned Air Systems (UASs) for both civilian and military uses. Located in Berkshire, our operations are notable for their focus on in-house design and manufacturing. This vertical integration means we control the production of most aircraft components on-site, enhancing our ability to innovate and maintain high standards across all stages of development.
About The Role:
As a UAS Support Engineer, you will be reporting to the Malloy T150 Product Owner. This exciting role will place the right candidate at the forefront of unmanned air system development in the UK.
We seek a highly motivated engineer to join a dynamic and innovative product management team to provide ongoing technical support to our customers in the operation and maintenance of our UAS. As a UAS Support Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering technical support, conducting system investigations, repair coordination, and documentation updates for in-service UAS platforms. Working as part of a product integration management team, you would ensure that products remain operational, compliant, and supported throughout their lifecycle by acting as a bridge between engineering, customers, and operations.
Ability to hold Security Clearance - 5 years residence in the UK
What you’ll being doing (but not limited too):
* Serve as the primary technical point of contact for in-service systems, providing expert support to internal teams and external customers.
* Lead the investigation for system faults, performance issues, and user-reported anomalies, delivering clear root cause analysis and effective resolutions.
* Perform detailed diagnostics, and trend analysis to support proactive maintenance and issue prevention.
* Coordinate and support repair and recovery efforts, both in the field and internally, ensuring compliance with product standards and service agreements.
* Maintain accurate configuration status records, ensuring all updates, modifications, and system changes are fully documented and traceable.
* Represent the company in customer reviews, technical meetings, and operational briefings, communicating technical insights clearly and professionally.
* Own the lifecycle of technical documentation updates, including user manuals, service bulletins, integration guides, and maintenance procedures.
* Collaborate closely with engineering, product, and operations teams to drive continuous improvement, ensuring systems remain reliable, supportable, and compliant throughout their lifecycle.
* Support system integration activities, ensuring seamless compatibility between hardware, software, and customer-specific infrastructure across operational environments.
Essential Skills and Experiences:
* Qualified to Degree level or equivalent experience in a relevant STEM discipline.
* Experience in a product support, maintenance, or field engineering role within an aerospace or high-tech industry.
* Knowledge of fault and occurrence investigation and analysis methodologies.
* Familiarity with configuration management, change control, and technical documentation standards.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and customer interaction.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Desired Skills and Experiences:
* Hands-on industrial experience.
* Experience of integrating complex systems and/or systems engineering.
* Experience with UAS/UAV and autonomous systems.
* Experience working within defence.
* Understanding of Military Aviation Authority (MAA) regulatory frameworks.
