Job Summary
Are you a proactive, organised, and compassionate individual with experience working with male adults in the criminal justice system, either in the community or in prisons? Do you have success engaging with challenging individuals, such as those with complex needs, reluctance to discuss their issues, or who are angry and confused?
St Giles Trust is seeking a Personal Wellbeing Coach to oversee the delivery of services to referrals made by Wales Probation Service.
About St Giles Trust
We are a well-established charity helping people facing adversity to find employment, housing, and support. Our ethos is based on the belief that those with lived experience of overcoming issues like offending, homelessness, addiction, and gang involvement are key to positive change.
St Giles is a kickstart employer, providing opportunities for 16-24-year-olds on Universal Credit at risk of long-term unemployment.
In partnership with The Wise Group, we deliver Personal Wellbeing Services in North and South Wales, supporting community offenders and prison leavers through various support services, including emotional wellbeing and social inclusion.
About this opportunity
Working within a multi-agency team, you will provide person-centred support to service users serving community sentences or being released from prison. Responsibilities include assessment, action planning, creating a safe environment using trauma-informed practices, and delivering interventions to meet outcomes.
You will develop relationships with external agencies, including probation and prisons, to achieve contractual targets. Recording activities and providing updates via CRM databases are also essential.
Requirements
* Experience working with partner agencies in a multi-agency environment or establishing links to further project aims
* Level 3 in Advice and Guidance or equivalent
* Ability to assess client needs and provide tailored support through action planning, advice, guidance, advocacy, and coaching
* Sensitivity to clients' trauma-informed needs
* Strong IT, relationship-building, and communication skills, both verbal and written
